When Are My Dues Due??

Dues are due on January 1 of each year, no matter what month you became a member of Canine Search and Recovery.

What Happens After I Send In My Membership Application??

When your membership application is received by the membership chairperson, you will receive a letter telling you that your application has been received and outlining the application process from that point. At the time your application is received, you are on a pending membership status. Following the receipt of your application, your name and that of your sponsor will be published in the Canine Search and Recovery Newsletter. All CSAR members will be given 30 days to comment on any applicants. Following the 30 day comment period, the Board of Directors of Canine Search and Recovery will vote on pending applicants. Membership can be approved, denied or tabled for further investigation if the board deems it necessary.

If your membership is approved, you will receive a membership card, patch and copy of the Canine Search and Recovery Constitution by mail.

If your membership is denied, your membership dues will be refunded to you.

If your membership is tabled, you may be asked for further information or to clarify questions or concerns raised during the application process.

What If I Don't Know A Canine Search and Recovery Member To Sign As My Sponsor??

We fully understand that there may be times when someone does not know anyone who is currently a CSAR member to sign as a sponsor. If you contact us, we will try to put you in touch with a member in your area. Other options are as follows:

1. Attend a seminar sponsored by CSAR or where other CSAR members are in attendance and get to know other members who will be willing to sponsor you as a member of Canine Search and Recovery.
2. Correspond with some of the Officers and Board Members by email or phone in order to get to know one another and for you to learn more about CSAR. By getting to know some of the officers and board, they also get to know you and will act as a sponsor.
   
3. Submit a letter of recommendation from your chief or unit commander on official agency letterhead.
4. Fill out and submit our On-Line request for personal contact.
